I’m currently listening to Day 4 of Sound True’s Mindfulness & Meditation Summit. One of the things I’ve learned from the online sessions is how habits are formed over time, even when there’s no practical reason for them.
In The Craving Mind, for example, Judson Brewer, MD, PhD shows how participants in their Eat Right Now training program became aware of how being triggered caused them to habitually engage in unhealthy eating behaviors.
When we try to temporary relieve our discomfort through distractions, however, we worsens our situation. In many cases, it adds another problem on top of the one we’re already dealing with.
If you want a different life, if you’re thirsting for change, you need to be conscious of why you do the things you’re doing and question if it’s serving you.
