Here at Psych Central, we’re always developing new quizzes to help you better understand yourself. We believe self-knowledge is power, and so the better you know yourself, the more in control of your life you will become. It’s a simple equation that works.
That’s why I’m please to introduce a number of new self-help psychological quizzes we’ve been working on over the past few months. We now have two new ways to test for bipolar disorder and eating disorders (which join our existing quizzes on these topics), and two new topics we’ve never had quizzes on before — paranoid and stress.
We’ve nearly always had a depression and a bipolar quiz on our website, since back in the late 1990s. We’re now pleased to introduce the Bipolar Self-Test Mood Questionnaire. This questionnaire helps to determine if you may suffer from serious mood swings, which can be a sign of bipolar disorder. It is based upon the diagnostic criteria found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5), which is the formal diagnostic criteria used to diagnose bipolar.
In addition to our other quizzes on eating disorders, we’ve added the Do I Have an Eating Disorder? Quiz. This brief, 20-question quiz will help you determine if you may suffering from problem eating or an eating disorder. This new quiz is based upon multiple scientific research studies on helping to identify eating disorders.
Paranoia Quiz & Stress Test
Two new topic areas we’ve never had quizzes on are now covered by Psych Central’s testing resources. The
Paranoid Personality Test is a quick, 8-question test for paranoid personality disorder. It is also based upon the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for paranoid personality.
Stress is such a big deal in so many people’s lives, it seems like an oversight that we didn’t have a stress quiz. That’s why I’m pleased to present our simple Stress Test. Informed by psychological research into stress, this quick stress test will help you determine how stressed-out you are right now, based upon your feelings in the past week.
All of our quizzes on mental health conditions are scientifically developed and tested before we roll them out to the public. We believe that quizzes should be based on research findings, or on similar diagnostic criteria that mental health professionals use to diagnose a condition. By developing our quizzes with these standards in mind, we believe our self-tests offer valid information that can help you make better decisions about seeking out (or deciding not to seek) treatment for a concern.
